I'm so tired of the ragging on Vaughn in the Clemson game. Go back and watch the 3 plays that people say he "got burned" on. They are so wrong. He's in great position, makes great plays, gets his hand in the play - Ross makes a better play. Nothing to be ashamed about - Ross is good. Vaughn and Pride are going to be really good. The Irish have a few defensive issues in the front 7. I hope they can address. They have zero issues in the secondary.
Sometimes the other team just makes great plays because they have great athletes. As Lou Holtz used to say the other teams give out scholarships too.

He fell down on one play on the biggest stage...he was bad,...quit making excuses...it was a painful lesson for both he and the team. Hopefully, he plays better this year.

I guess we will disagree on this one - all good. He's in good position, is draped all over Ross/Higgins, pulls their arms out of the plays and Ross/Higgins make great one handed catches - on both plays. But to your point - They made both plays - Vaughn didn't. I still think the Irish corners will be Vaughn and Pride, and they are gonna be really good this year. We will see.
no answer for the quick slant. He's as fast as anyone in the country, so I hope his technique will improve. He simply cannot get beaten to the inside when he has the speed to chase from behind.
Couldn't agree more on Pride. Not sure how he has earned such trust from many ND writers/commentators. His production no where near matches his athleticism and it's not like he is young! I sure hope I am wrong but he scares me in a Gary Gray manner. Outside of Julian Love has there been an Irish DB or S that has shown any ability to react to a ball when it is in the air and up for grabs in the last 10 years or so? I would include Gillman in that - he so should have put on 15-20 pounds and moved to Rover. That dude is a linebacker in a safety's body.

And think Vaughn misplayed both, especially the first. He fell down trying to strip instead of leaving a tackle a possibility. Both may have also been interference.
Not looking to point fingers but 3 and 14 and Ross creams Gilman for the score. That hurt. But most of the conversation focuses on Vaughn.
