Everyone should have expected UL to be effective moving the ball in the 1st quarter. They have a new coach, new scheme and there was no film on Louisville. It’s simply going to take a few series to get things adjusted. Also, there were simple mistakes that just happen in game 1 of any season (for almost every top 25 team). The two offsides penalties alone may have cost us 14 points. There were also the missed tackles I generally expect in the first couple of games.
Probably close to 50% of Louisville’s yards came in the first two series. After that, we had them completely shut down. If we don’t clean things up against New Mexico, maybe I’ll be concerned. But not now.
Book and the offense....that’s a different story.
Honestly, we had a lot of trouble stopping them. Our linebackers were almost useless in run support. We knew we would have trouble at DT, but it looks like teams are going to have an easy time running on our entire front seven. I mean Louisville was one-dimensional, and we still had trouble not getting gashed.
The worst part is it appears to be a talent problem.

And only gave up 220 yards.
The DT's get zero push, and the LB's are slow.
Georgia will run for 400 yards against them, right up the gut.

Take your act to NDN. So far you've bashed the QB, DTs and LBs. What a big man you are.

Not to mention new center and no Dexter. It takes time.
And your points are well taken. I'm not going to put too much stock into any of it at this point.
He has happy feet, gets flushed easily and his accuracy is so so at best.
Set an all-time ND record for completion percentage
Never would have known it last night
Like I have said before, he will never play in the NFL...continuing our fine tradition
Big reason for our lack of stature for quite some time
Meanwhile Georgia and Alabama have QBs that leave because they are so overloaded......and they dont leave to go play for Jacksonville St
Only OSU seems to be able to do that north of the MD Line.
The coach is average. Not awful but not a difference maker in the team being able to punch with the big boys.
I will always love and root for the team, but it’s sort of silly to expect some type of epiphany there after ten years with a Kelly. My kid is there for three years now so I will be going to more games than in recent years. Realistic expectations are good.
Great education
Their program is pretty good though and it gives me a place to shack while watching some games.

That is something that SHOULD be easy to fix.

recall. It always seemed like adjustments waited until half time.
