We can all agree ND's win wasn't the most inspiring in the world. That said, ND was favored by ~19 and won by 18 in a season-opening road game. ND beat a four-win MAC team by eight at home last season, and that was an ND team that deservedly made the playoff.
Anyway, here are the actual numbers posted by the Louisville offense after it took a 14-7 lead since they're a common point in support of the idea ND's win wasn't dreadful.
First 2 Possessions:
18 plays / 163 yards / 7 FD / 3-3 3rd / 14 points
Final 10 Legitimate Possessions (Half-ending, garbage-time drives removed):
50 plays / 188 yards / 11 FD / 3-12 3rd / 3 points
All 12 Possessions after TDs:
57 plays / 220 yards / 14 FD / 3-12 3rd / 3 points
Louisville may not be good, but their talent is better than 2-10 or Ball State. I mean, winning by an expected, comfortable margin against a power conference foe that should have a shot at a bowl game isn't exactly reaeon to say, "See, Brian Kelly doesn't have 'it!'"
They suck.
They lost the last 9 games of the season last year and now they are suddenly world beaters
The excuse making by the homers on UHND is back in full swing...it's September
You are the opposite of what you think you are criticizing. You are so heavily invested in the "Kelly Sucks" mantra that you've created your own bias fan boy culture.
You simply can't have a reasonable conversation about ND having any sort of success because you think it takes away from the "Kelly Sucks" movement.
Simply put, you care more about Kelly getting fired and you being "right" than ND succeeding.
Quite honestly, it's sad.
Search on all of my posts
Show me where I have ever said Kelly sucks?
Let me know when you find one
I call out Homers like you
That is what I do....sorry if you don’t like it
You can read my mind. I am in trouble now!
I called you out and I was right.
They are a very good team who played like crap against an average team at best; do that against UGA and they will have their lunch served to them.
That is all that I and several others mind you are saying.
You are revealing yourself as a homer by not being able to deal with that.
If ND plays bad in the road against a top 5 team with the 2nd most talented roster in the country they'll get dominated?
What a prediction!!!
Who would ever think there would be exuberant ND fans at a Notre Dame fan website? Thank goodness we have a self-anointed board nanny to call out such behavior.
I'll take homers over NDN-like wannabe douchebags any day.
Someone steps in with the childlike name calling.
You don't have to say, "Kelly Sucks" to think it. Your role as "Homer Policeman" let's the cat out of the bag. And honestly, it's ok to have that opinion.
But to act like you are some realist and everyone else is Homers when people can't come to the board after ND going 14-1 in their last 15 games with the only loss being to the eventual National Champion and have some positive posts is all I need to know on where you stand.
And search my post. I've been on the fire Kelly side several times. I've questioned his offense and hirings several times. I'm not a ND Coach Fan, I am an ND Fan. I could care less who is coaching.
Kelly didn't get fired and now the program is building and having success. So now I'll comment on the cards being dealt currently.
Your thoughts could apply t so many.
Its sad the hatred towards ND..BK..Jenkins..Swarbrick etc.

I simply said Louisville is more talented and will be better than 2018 Ball State, and it should have a chance to win six games - hardly glowing praise.
There is an ocean between that and, "They are world beaters," which is something literally nobody in the world has said.
There's simply no reason to ignore the final 12 Louisville possessions and focus instead on ND's first two defensive possessions of the entire season. We all know who Brian Kelly is, so we don't need every damn postgame to be some version of, "See, MORE proof Kelly sucks!"
Woodstock is a trolling Michigan fan, so I wouldn’t waste much time or energy in responding to his garbage.
A Michigan fan....wow
is good or not.
One thing to take into consideration is how pathetic must ULs FB program be if losing your opening game by 18 points is cause for celebration?
