In this offensive scheme, a running back absolutely must be able to offer at least a reasonable amount of pass protection. Freshmen RB's are usually lacking in that area.

The problem was the gameplan was built around Armstrong who left after 1 series.
I expect Kyren Williams will have a much bigger role now that Armstrong is out for a while as he is the only other guy that brings a similar skillset with his receiving abilities. He probably got very few reps leading up to UL (as would be expected with a 4th string player) so the coaches weren't comfortable throwing him in there. With plenty of practice time, he'll be ready and will mitigate Armstrong's absence moving forward.
He looks like an RB.
That would require Kelly putting ELITE SPEED on the field something he seems allergic toπ€¦ββπ€¦ββ
He looked decent last season at RB & caught the ball pretty well.
As for now it should be:
Jones
Smith
Kyren
C'Bo
C'bo and Kyren Williams were both notable when they were recruits. I would like to see what either one can do.

His frame is too thin to hold up at the RB position. He'll be a fine WR, though.
I could see maybe Kendall Abdur-Rahman making a switch, but since there are still four true RB's on the roster, I doubt it will be necessary.
I bet he's better utilized at RB then he was on Monday playing outside.
All the other rbs are over 200 lb.
There a number of good running backs. No Dexter Williams but a RB by committee would not be all bad.
