I'm usually a great optimist about ND football, but the fact is this isn't a very good offensive line. And it won't be measurably better next week.
Georgia very well could hold ND to single-digit points. In fact, I expect them to. ND allegedly has about a 1/4 to 1/3 chance of winning, according to some analyses. I don't see how it's even that high.

This might be my worst-case scenario fear. I wanted to believe Quinn would do a good job with the considerable talent that has been recruited, but recognized that he just might not be up to the task. Returns this season so far are not encouraging. I will say, though, that most of us didn’t think ND’s offense was capable early last season, and the team fared pretty well. Shit can happen, good and bad, as the season moves on. I also want to point out that mighty Alabama rushed for only 76 total yards today to a team that surrendered 240 to UNC. I have a feeling the Tide will be alright despite today’s poor performance. The early season doesn’t define the season. But for sure ND needs massive improvement upfront to compete next week. Right now, I’d favor Georgia by 17.
I'm thinking Quinn isn't up to the job, either, although there were many times Hiestand's lines were ineffective, too. But this ineptitude is on a whole different level.

Would love to come back and be able to say “I never should have doubted Quinn.”
