I think so, right? Because I'd rather we take our chances with Fromm. I understand he's a very good QB. But, I'd rather him burn us than get bludgeoned to death by Georgia's RBs. I know Vaughn was hit with two or three pass interference calls last Saturday. but, I hope he stays just as aggressive against Georgia. Forcing Fromm to win the game for them, at least means he'd have to do it against our defensive strength: the secondary.
On the offensive side of the ball, I hope we see a lot more shovel passes. Shovel passes are obviously a highly efficient way of getting the ball in the hands of your playmakers in space. We looked like Ohio State, under Meyer, and Clemson, on those plays. I'm not sure why we don't see more of that. I'm sure denizens on here, who are far more intelligent than I, can inform me as to why that's the case.
If ND can slow the Georgia run game without "selling out," that's a best-case scenario. But that's a long-shot scenario, I think. if ND has to make a choice: commit more to stop the run OR continue to honor the pass game straight up . . . I think it is a no-brainer. You can't let Georgia just run you over. Fromm might burn ND repeatedly, but I think that is the way you have to go. Georgia wants to run. The run game is their strength, despite how great Fromm is. And the only area where Georgia has any vulnerability might be WR . . . largely because of player loss (Holloman), lack of experience, and injury (Simmons, Jackson, Bush, Robertson). Pick your poison and hope it doesn't kill you.
Safeties.
If you think your secondary is your strength, play to that.
