Granted we've not exactly played the 1927 Yankees, but I do not understand the fan cowardice in approach to this game.
Go Irish. Pumple Georgia.

And keep in mind we haven't exactly played the cream of the crop either (yes, I know neither opponent is 1-AA)
We also looked like shit trying to run the ball vs an awful New Mexico team & we couldn't convert 3rd and short several times vs both UL & NM.
We can't stop the run or run the ball ourselves on Saturday and things will get ugly quick. Very quick- think Miami 2017.
Love this POST, that's why they play Saturday.
realistic though. If we win there it’s a monumental upset and highly unlikely.

And that includes the BCS championship game vs Alabama and the Cotton Bowl vs. Clemson. In the 2 other games I could at minimum see ND finding a strategy or scheme to pull off an upset. No matter how many different angles I use to assess this match-up, I cannot fathom a path to victory (minus the inexplicable). Maybe if Georgia turns it over 5 or 6 times (ala Miami vs PSU in '87) there is a chance. Outside of that I fully expect the Irish to be ruthlessly violated.
Man, I hate that. It's painful to watch.
And it always seems to be a prime time game with no other game (of note) on so a GIANT audience gets to see ND get throttled first-hand.
This is where all the "ND is overrated" "ND is irrelevant" comments are coming from (though ND will always be relevant)
Since the Willingham era, maybe.
Hope to hell I'm wrong.

We're #7 in the United States of America.
Georgia has accumulated as much talent via recruiting as any team over a number of years. They are playing at home. As much as I expect ND to be pretty good this year, there is every reason to believe Georgia has a talent and depth advantage at most positions. And even where ND has recruited best — along the OL — it doesn’t seem to be translating to on field success. I get why most expect Georgia to win and why some expect a blowout. That said, upsets happen. Georgia is capable of underperforming. They lost by 20 to LSU last season when they were clearly positioned for the CFP. They stumbled against Texas in the bowl game last season. I’m not optimistic about Saturday, but I’m not assuming a loss either.
Former 1 WR recruit Demetris Robertson, that dude who had ND's equipment truck out front, is a starting senior at Georgia.
At least as of the last I saw. He didn’t play last week.

What are you getting at?

I would refer you to their talent, and to ND's inability to run the ball. And to stop the run.
Against New Mexico.
And that may well have been deliberate.
Essentially 300 yards rushing. We have ability.
