Very impressed, very physical/disciplined. On Taylor’s long run they pulled the backside guard and tackle and they sealed the lane perfectly.

Wisconsin’s regular season last year was 7-5. ND’s was 12-0

But people keep humping Wisconsin’s leg. Bizarre.

Thread Level: 3

They were a combined 45-10 the previous 4 years.

Your right. They suck. Beat 45 bad teams.

Yeah, but "pounding the ball" is better than winning.

I'd rather go 7-5, and lose to Minnesota at home by 22, than have a pansy spread offense that can't pound the ball! Seriously, though, I do admire Wisconsin's run game year in and year out. It's old school, and it is usually impressive.

and having a strong running game are not mutually exclusive. Many teams do them both very well. Just not ND.

The fact that ND can't do it because of the design and play calling of the offenses architect, is what chaps many ND fans.

BTW, Wisconsin didn't win much last year because they're D sucked, ND rode theirs to 12 wins, just like 2012.

Teams can rush well and run a spread offense. That’s why I qualified “pansy” spread offense. My post was tongue-in-cheek . . . and the funny thing is that your response proved my point.

No one's "humping Wisconsins leg".

Just appreciating a team that does something very well, that ND can't do at all.

Thread Level: 2

They just pound you. I can never understand why the ND line can’t do the same.

Agree. Thought that for years. Wisc. always has the horses. ND should be recruiting the same kids.

are all it takes to be a successful running team. Unfortunately for ND, those two things are way down on the list of importance in BK's offense.

A lot of it is the style of the offense. I would take us over them any time. Like CC72 said 7-5 vs

12-0. Whenever Wisconsin has to pass they are horrible. They will lose sometime. They get their asses kicked even when they are supposedly good.

this kid for Wiscy looks like he might be an upgrade over previous Wiscy QB's. Then again, they are playing UM. .

As for 7-5 vs. 12-0, ND went 12-0 because of GREAT defense, same as 2012.

Thread Level: 5

ND also averaged more yards per game and points per game than Wisconsin last year.

It wasn’t just about defense. Wisconsin’s wasn’t terrible anyway . . . not great, but S&P ranked #35.
