the 5 yard variety that kill drives and didn't play anywhere near to a clean game. Yet, on the road in Athens, we had a chance to win the game at the gun. In years past, how many times could we say this? Our talent level would not have allowed us to play anything less than perfect in order to have a chance to win back in the day. I'm not one for moral victories either, but come on folks, the men played their butts off and the talent is there to win against the best of the best. Most posters on this very board predicted we'd be rolled yesterday, Now, some of those same posters are saying our coaches suck. If we'd lost by 15 points, we'd be bitching about how far we are from elite, how bare the talent cupboard is and how far Notre Dame has fallen. Make no mistake...I'm not content with the result....but this team is capable of playing with and beating the best. That's not something I couldve said once in the last 25 years with any real confidence. Hats off to the D for playing a great game. I wish we had won...but I'm proud of the team and proud to be an ND fan....Onward to Virginia, ND will not lose another game this season. 11-1. Go Irish!
and would not happen elsewhere. I agree with your assessment....there is a lot of talent on the roster and this team plays hard for each other with as much speed across the board as any ND team which has not been the case for other teams of this century. The deck was stacked against the Irish and they played above expectations of uninformed fans and gurus on both sides. The future is bright....but I still do not like the BK offense like most....but it is an offense and guys do cross the goal line.
