Just think about this...even though ND lost, they played UGA all the way down to the final second of the fourth quarter. Name me another team not named Clemson or Alabama that could have went into one of they most hostile environments like that, with the talent that ND has and play a team like UGA so close.
Honestly the talent gap between the two team is very wide but ND played right up to their level. They just fell a bit short down at the end. Also their 12th man played a big factor for them. Who knows in a neutral environment things might have played out differently.

I don't disagree w the rankings as they are right now, but LSU (and Wisconsin) are playing excellent football right now.
No doubt, they can put up some pretty impressive offensive numbers. However, when you give up almost 40 points to a pretty bad Vanderbilt squad, and most of it was in the first three quarters, it does raise a few eyebrows.
If that's the case, they would be a lot like Oklahoma from last year, where they had to rely on beating almost everyone in a shootout. The big problem is that this year's SEC seems to have much more stout defenses than the Big 12 from last year.
