Virginia moved the ball at will through the air. Kudos to Clark Lea for once again making perfect adjustments.
the defense broke down because of the broken play.
It seems the other offense looks unstoppable for a few series, and then they get shut down. This one lasted into the half, as we only forced a single punt.
1. ND coverage seemed to be peaking in the backfield worried about the QB's legs. Created a few soft spots.
2. UVA's QB caught fire and the WR's made impressive catches. It happens. ND's guys seemed to be a tick slow, case in point, Okwara should have had a pick six on the first big play. Honestly, he didn't seem to even be paying attention.
3. 2nd half it was obvious Lea told them to worry less about containment and attack more. Likely because he got a good indication no one on UvA was going to run by ND's secondary.
spying the QB gave Okwara & Co. the time they needed.

Watched that Dubois TD over Bracy again -- just a great play by a WR. Bracy was in position and made a play on the ball. Perfect throw, perfect grab.
Part of it was them “peaking” into the backfield and they got a little undisciplined. At half time that’s what I heard Kelly getting on them about. In the second half, they adjusted to play them more straight up and also stayed disciplined. Probably a good game plan by UVA too to not run him a lot (because it’s the opposite of what ND was expecting).
Plus, their WRs just made some great catches.
On a related note. I think all year Okwara was pressing to much and was focused on a personal sack goal. That leads to undisciplined and poor results. In the second half, he just trusted the scheme and the results came. Hopefully he learned a lesson.

to me like the Dline was trying to keep Perkins in the pocket and make him a thrower in the first half. Went after him in the second half.
