These are all guys I was really excited to see play after they signed. Now they seem to be all but invisible. Are they just buried on the depth chart? Haven't panned out as well as expected? What's the deal?
I'm guessing he will end up as a safety next year because he really isn't a good cb which is why he isn't playing much. He may get more time with Crawford out for a bit.
I figured I'd hear Houston's name mentioned, but I haven't.
Give it time. It is really a numbers game for Simon/Griffin. It doesn't mean they are busts just that that Lea is getting his best 20 guys on the field depending on the situation and they haven't cracked that group yet.
To date, the top 6 dbs have been Pride, Crawford, Bracy, Hamilton, Eliot and Gilman. It isn't a "miss" when you can't crack that group. And it is rare when you need more than 6 dbs. And I think that Griffin is going to end up as a safety next year which is probably where he be probably belongs. That said, if he isn't playing a lot against BG, then there may be an issue.
Same thing is basically true about Simon. He is outside the top 6 at LB (including Rover) and Lea often uses Jones/Hayes if he wants to go big instead of using a lb.
He just wasn't very good and was behind DJ Brown and Kyle Hamilton. Simon and Griffith both still have bright futures. I expect both to be regulars next year. Griffith will probably be a starter.

Passed up or not able to pass anyone
all 3 of these guys were highly regarded. Big miss somewhere if all 3 can’t find the field. I’m all for playing the best 22 though.
