I do not understand why our DB's are not taught to look for the ball on pass plays! Pride is terrible about not looking for the ball. There are so many times when the pass is coming to his man and he has no idea where the ball is. To me that is something that shoild be worked on everyday in practice so they get used to doing it. I see way to many passes where ND corners have no clue where the ball is and could knock it down or even intercept it if they would just learn to look. It has been happening for to many years and it drives me crazy! There I'm done venting, GO IRISH!
You have to stay with your man first and then look for the ball which is not easy to defend on perfectly thrown passes.
probably wouldn't start at most schools.
Watch some NFL football today. When in man coverage, most of those guys will struggle, and won't be able to look back for the ball.

Even Saban does not teach DB's to look back for the ball. Another site had a full discussion on technique. CB's are taught to run with the receiver and watch their eyes and arms. When the receiver signals the ball is near, they are to jump up and thru the receiver's outstretched arms. Or something like that. Looking back evidently lets the receiver adjust unseen or causes a lot of PI calls.
Because that doesn’t sound right.
and where the plan is to throw it.

Well they sure don’t look like it if they do, so I’m saying NO they don’t.
the good db’s will find the ball so I suggest you watch and see that you are silly.
