........and Hamilton was just a 3 star recruit.
I’ve said it before, but Brian Kelly is the best high school talent evaluator in the country. His team rankings mean little since the people ranking ought to be using Kelly as their barometer.

Tyler Buchner is a high 4* (possible 5* before it's done) recruit who holds offers from Alabama, Georgia, USC, Michigan, etc. Whether that commitment sticks and how it pans out remains to be seen.
All figers point to him being a lock, but I hope he stays this way. Rankings are rankings, but this kid looks special

Thanks for that insight.
Below you offered subsequent NFL success as some measure of how good a college QB was (Quinn). Using that as a measure, I'm not sure Book being an "underrated 3 star" explains being average. Currently the top three rated NFL QBs were 3* recruits when coming out of HS. Prescott, Wilson, Mahomes.

Complete NFL bust
Notice a trend?
The roids did have a negative impact on his Sr. yr. He got to jacked and wasn't the same passer.
I guess "good" means Heisman winning only? Pretty sure he was 2nd or 3rd in the voting that JR year.

practicing awesome and the right way. Those drills... he looked so good in drills. Did you see that throw with no one but tackling dummies and swinging brooms coming at him. Man... what a QB. See ya at the game Saturday.
For me it's not that Kelly spotted him as a three star, it's that he beat out Georgia, Ohio State, et al for him. He was treated as an elite recruit by the top schools, they were rolling out the red carpet. It's more impressive that Kelly and the staff won that kind of battle, because those are the battles they'll need to win to continue to take the next steps. And taking Deion Colzie from Athens over the weekend and an Ohio State legacy in Lorenzo Styles is more evidence of that.

Now just get it done versus the cheat programs and we can correct this ncaa behemoth that cares more about money/power and circling wagons than what it was created for.
I remember reading that UGA coaches were very unhappy about losing him. Most on the board at the time of his commitment understood that he was a big-time recruit, despite the 3* rating.
