First off, I appreciate what Autry Denson did as a player for ND. Always. But he had no business being RB coach if he didn't like to recruit. The lack of a play maker at running back not only hurt ND vs UGA & tonight but will continue to hurt ND. Dexter Williams (who Denson didn't recruit) hid so many of Book's weaknesses last year. I won't blame the new RB coach Lance Taylor b/c these aren't his guys & he's doing his best with what he has to work with. I like Tony Jones but he just doesn't have the skill, size or speed to be ND's main RB. Armstrong? Don't get me started. I'd love to know who said he was fast. That he was Dex Williams Jr. He is slow.
Secondly Jeff Quinn. And this one hurts the most. We went from a guy (Harry Heirdstat sp?) who was mass producing NFL linemen to a guy who is clueless at what he's doing & would probably still be unemployed if his ol' bud Kelly didn't throw him a bone.
Lastly, Todd Lyght. Pride is overrated & Donte Vaughn has no business being on the field. He half asses for every play hes out there (& can't cover for shit) Houston Griffith (a coveted recruit) is MIA & Tariq Bracy, who played a lot early in the season, was lucky to see the field tonight in garbage time. In fact, I think this is the first he's played since BGSU (where EVERYONE saw game action)
Regardless Kelly is responsible for the whole team & it makes me sick ND will be the laughing stock (yet again) for failing to show up to play a mediocre Michigan team w/ 2 weeks to get ready.
