People are ready to rip up a staff that has won 18 of 21. Long, Book and Quinn are taking heat for the offense. Look who they have lost or almost lost to in those games, 4 of the top 5 or 6 DC's in the game. Add Dave Aranda of LSU and you got most of them. Venables is the best. Foster is a VT legend. Think of how many different offenses they have seen. And all had 2 weeks or more to plan for ND except Brown. And he was cagey enough to go against tendencies. Think they gave Long good lessons. If he can learn from them, may want to keep him now that he is trained.
is going to lead you to be sorely disappointed by ND's offense over and over.
Foster is a VT legend but his D has sucked all year, this year. He's playing a bunch of freshmen, sophomores and backups and still made BK's offense look completely inept.
What's the excuse gonna be next week when, whoever Duke's d coordinator is, makes BK's offense look just as inept?
But you do make an excellent point. Coaching matters.
So essentially your premise is, it's way easier to win when you don't have to face anyone good. And if we have to face someone good, it's kind of unfair and we should just not count those. Because the other dudes have really awesome coaches. I'm pretty sure that is Nick Saban's motto. "hey, let's just beat the scrubs and keep our fingers crossed for the mean toughies." What the hell happened to Notre Dame and their fanbase?
That's hilarious. Thanks for giving me a good laugh.
