The if then isn’t that simple. Give it up. “It’s better to remain silent and be thought a fool, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt.” -Lincoln. Heed those words, you keep typIng and removing all the doubt we have if you.
Beat the spread by about 28 points
Does this mean ND is 1 point better than Florida, but they would get beat by South Carolina or does Florida's win of South Carolina create a reverse vortex win/loss because Georgia beat Florida who beat South Carolina who beat Georgia who beat Notre Dame.
Maybe, just maybe.....every game stands on its own and you can draw few conclusions from common opponents because every situation and every week is different.
I agree there are problems...lots of them...with ND's football team at THIS moment, but they could magically figure it out after this comeback. No one knows. You don't. I don't. The coaches don't...at least not right now.

Good enough to survive, and occasionally get into the playoff, but not to become the program that the Irish faithful (if not administration) want.

He's always been the same. You don't have to like him to think he's probably the best ND can get. He's a 9 win average coach, with an occasional 12-1 a season and an occasional losing season. This is not a 12 win season, and any moron knew that going in. We lost our best receiver, our best running back, two first round draft pick O-linemen, our best LB and our best defensive tackle (NG?).
Right now we just need to scrap for enough wins to keep a decent recruiting pipeline working. We'll hit another 12-win year at some point, but only if we keep grinding out 8, 9 and 10 win seasons.

Virginia 48 Duke 14.
ND isn't playing well. Everyone knows that. Comparing scores means nothing.
