The 14th Stanford player has entered the transfer portal. The rats are leaving " Captain " Shaw's ship. A scary precedent is being set. Boykin left for the pros partly due to his desire to avoid playing another year for Chip Long. There was talk of anti-Long rumblings by other players, so maybe BK feared a similar mass defection, and ashcanned the Chipster ASAP.
opportunity arises. Seems like lots of NFL teams will have openings. Shaw must be very secure in his position at Stanford. Shoot, they seemed fine with Willingham being competitive every third year or so....
This is, in a word, horseshit. I have no love for Stanford but many of these players would be fifth years who are getting their degrees by this June. That means they would have to be accepted to s Stanford graduate program to be eligible to stay. The probability that any of these guys could get into Stanford grad school is somewhere around the odds of Brian Kelly going to Woody Hayes's "three yards and a cloud of dust" offense next year.

I get it. If you have a scholarship (sic) to a D1 school you were already addicted to roar of the crowd adulation. But really, in terms of long run chances to economic security the gamble on an NFL career is very risky. If these Stanford grads are parleying their football talents into earning graduate degrees my hats is off to them!
