Sounds like Wisconsin game isn't going to be much of a "home" game

According to reports, ticket distribution is 30,000 to ND, 30,000 to Wisconsin with 17,000 being kept by the Packers for their own suite/club ticket owners.

I'm not one to bash Swarbrick off-the-cuff but sounds like he got taken to the cleaners on this one. Given the way ND likes to take care of their own special "constituencies", it looks like Swarbrick doesn't give a shit about the regular fans. It will be interesting to see what the ticket distribution will be for the Soldier field game in 2021. I'm betting the split will favor Wisconsin for their "home" game.

Its not a Notre Dame Home Game.. Its at Lambeau Field in beautiful Green Bay with limited housing and hotels. If you need a house to stay at that can accommodate up to 6-8 people (responsible people) - I'm your guy! I own the Packer House directly across the street from Lambeau. Drop a message on our Facebook Site - "Packer House" and let me know if you have an interest in renting. Check out the pics, even a bar in the garage.

The Lambeau game is Wi’s home game.

Wow. Lots of ND history at Lambeau, but OLD history. This is a mistake.

1. Why call it a "home game" if the team you are playing 1) has equal number of tickets allocated, and 2) in this case, another 17,000 are going to what will be 95% Wisconsin fans. There is little Swarbrick can do about the deal The Packers have with their own fans but the equal split of remaining tickets is just a fuck-up, pure and simple. The worst deal should have been 35/25 split given the Packers take, so I have begun to shift my opinion that Swarbrick is quite the idiot on this one.

2. The notion that "season ticket" holders are the only ones with a stake in the program versus the alumni who have donated faithfully for decades is just uninformed and naive. The big bulk of ND "season ticket" holders are corporations, corporate partners (like Anthony Travel, NBC, Under Armour, etc) and other "special" folks, who will end up giving tickets to people who have little affiliation with ND. In addition, given the history of ticket sales at ND for big games (see Nebraska, Georgia, etc), there will be a chunk of high roller alums who will get tickets who have no interest in going to the game with the sole purpose of putting them on Stub Hub, etc, sell to the highest bidders or take care of personal pals with no connection to ND.

What is left is a large chunk of long time, loyal ND alums who have supported ND programs for decades but can't afford to keep up with the Jones' in terms of sheer $ who will likely get left out of being able to attend this game in this incredibly inept deal.

If you think that is whining, then so be it. You clearly have little clue as to the dynamics here.

Because that’s what ND has to do as far as tickets to get the opponents to play the game.

Wisconsin, which has gotten ripped for the weakness of their OOC schedule, needs this game far more than we do.

And to have it in Wis we split the tickets.

Who has TV rights for each game. Doesn’t matter who the “home” team is. TV is where the $ is.

If Swarbrick got NBC the rights to both games. He won that negotiation.

It’s a home game from a TV rights perspective. The game at Lambeau will be on NBC.
