Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star offensive lineman Greg Crippen, who was being recruited to play center at Notre Dame, has de-committed from Notre Dame. The 6-4, 285-pounder initially chose the Irish back on March 27, 2019 over scholarship offers from Alabama, Boston College, Michigan, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Purdue and a couple of others, following an unofficial visit to South Bend. He returned to campus over the summer for camp and seemed locked in with the Irish.
Crippen has been visiting other schools over the past several months. It wasn’t a matter of if, but when.

There are several top notch prospects (Rucci, Spindler, Tengwall, Dellinger, and Milum) who are listed as "warm" according to 247sports, and rated higher than Crippen. Combine this with Blake Fisher already being committed, and it may have started to look like it would be a crowded house.
Don't get me wrong, though. It would have been nice to keep Crippen, as he seems to be a solid player at the guard position, and one we could have used.
