Rough couple of weeks, slightly softened by the commitment of 24/7 #23 SDE David Abiara

Losing Colzie hurt and it makes holding onto Lorenzo Styles that much more important.
Some rumors flowing online that Styles has been facetiming with the Michigan coaches, specifically Harbaugh himself.
Not sure of the validity but that B list recruiting insider "EJ Holland" is now singing a tune that Michigan may in fact flip Styles.
Recent update to the story is that Tom Loy saw this, and spoke directly to Styles about the rumors.....
Normally where there is smoke there is fire, and there seems to be a ton of negative smoke in this class recently.

My experience, ND recruits just as hard as every other big time program. Whether FaceTime, text, calls, weekly post cards, etc. they are doing it. Recruiting is 24/7 business for these programs and coaches to maintain successful programs, and their jobs.... Parents/Recruits need to treat it as a business too. Don’t get caught up in the hype of the pictures, coaches telling you that you’re their guy, twitter articles, they plan to play you early, etc. Once again it’s a business, and until they sign that intent letter the recruiting process continues.
Recruits need to make the best personal/business decision for themselves academically, personally based on what position they play, and socially on what campus is a good fit for them.
For Lorenzo, whether he plays WR or DB he’s ALL IN at ND. For my son Sonny that may be different, we will go through the same process to determine what school is best fit for for him.
Best regards, Styles’ Mom

Folks need to chill out...Look. I can't stand how BK coaches. Not a fan of how he develop or uses talent (or doesn't) but one thing he and his staff has done is recruit.
Doesn't really know how to use all these players but BK and co gets them.
It definitely wasn't top 10.
Yeah, Kelly & Co. are doing a bang up job.
Camping World Bowl Part 2 on deck (if there is a CFB season this year)
Prior to this run Clemson has been on their 5 years leading up to their first title, their class ranks were about the same as ND and in some years lower. What did Dabo do differently? Develop and coach. Even then..their class last year was 9th! Texas and Oregon were ranked higher. Rankings aren't nearly as important as "services" make them to be.
And I'm not talking about how the team does...I'm not a fan of his coaching...that's my point. Yea, Camping World Sun Holiday Pinstripe whatever bowl is about his ceiling. But good-to-great players have come through those doors. BK and Co ain't great at developing them. Other than WRs/TEs.

"Rankings aren't nearly as important as "services" make them to be"
They aren't ?
If you really believe that then please tell me the last team in the past 20 years that won it all with a roster that was composed of mostly 4*/3* recruits vs a team with/ a roster composed of mostly 5*/4* recruits.
i know Tom Loy posted something about it, im not an Insider.
Anyone have any insight on Styles chat with Loy?
May have been Tim Prister, not sure now.

Just because he covers ND doesn't mean he can't talk to or about recruits. He and Tom Loy work for the same company essentially.
He isn't any different, for example, than Pete Sampson who covers ND for The Athletic, Eric Hansen or Tom Noie who cover ND sports for the South Bend Tribune.
They are careful about what they specifically report for numerous reasons one being that staff members at schools are likely some of their sources.

It reports on ND Athletics.
It isn't any different than the South Bend Tribune section for subscribers called ND Insider.
According to your warped logic, Prister can't talk to recruits but he can hire Tom Loy to do so and they both work for the same company?
They are very careful re: what they report on but they can and do talk to recruits and their families.
Where does all his information come from? ND's coaching staff...nope, because that would be against NCAA rules by ND's coaching staff. High School coaches....not a chance all this detailed information comes from high school coaches. The vast chunk of their information is directly sourced from recruits and their families but carefully reported.
Wow, you're really lost of this one.
he doesn’t have an ND connection.
