I elude to the absolute latest date available to the NCAA CFB decision makers to determine the 2020 season?
When will we know?
If the season is alive and to occur will fan participation a projected part of the equation?
I have given this topic a good deal of thought and decided the 2020 season is unlikely and fan participation less likely than the season actually taking place at all.
Widespread quick testing should be fully in place well before then. South Korea didn't shut down its society, but instead tested widely and isolated the afflicted. We can do the same, and they drug combo looks very promising. I know this isn't the Open, but we can't keep shut down for much longer. Two Air Force cadets committed suicide rather than continue the draconian stay-in-place orders they had to live under.
As it is now, the hot and warm areas will be under control by June.
Once under control there are measures that can be taken to get us back to some normalcy, which potentially includes large events.
Aggressive testing.
Isolation
Tracing
Testing those traced
Isolate
Immunity cards
Temperature checks in office, venues, etc.
More Hospital capacity
Treatments
Herd immunity
Problem is, if the states “cool” right now start getting hot in May/June, then we are heading into football season with problems still. Which will likely cancel the season.

Link: Will We Have Football??
With commencements cancelled and the spring semester all online, the next part of the calendar is summer school, which is vital for football programs (conditioning and class credits to lessen the load in the fall). If in-person summer school is axed, the season will not happen in my view.
