that wants the ball in his hands. BK wants chunk plays in his passing game, everything else is secondary and superficial.
No top RB will come to ND under BK, nor will ND beat a good team with a great D under BK.

The coaches pulled out all stops, but you can't force a kid to leave home. Good luck to him.
It's great to read people's thoughts who think logically. Reading other tweets and boards I thought the fact Shipley is going to Clemson was going to cause BK to get fired and the program to fold. He never made it to South Bend. He's choosing a school close to home that happens to be a national power. There is no prize for finishing second, but by all accounts, I'm not sure what else they could have done in the middle of a pandemic.
when we don't land the "sure thing". Well, Shipley was never a "sure thing". He's staying close to home and by all account, that's pretty much the deciding factor for him. Don't forget we got Chris Tyree in '20 and he will be a better back from what I'm reading.
I just wish they would have cast a wider net when recruiting RBs this year, even if they only sign one. Missing on a RB this year when they only signed 1 last year and just 1 the year before is going to cause some major gaps in depth if they do not sign a RB this year. Yes, there is still time to find and recruit one but with current travel restrictions combined with the early signing period, there isn't alot of time for the coaches to establish new relationships with recruits. They'll likely have to take a flier on recruit that they wouldn't have normally taken or recruit and athlete that hopefully will develop into a good RB.
What does bother me is that this kid was clearly a silent over a month ago when Hickey and Witfong flipped their CB's to Clemson, and he continued to do interviews, engage ND sites heavily, do the ISD Instagram chat with Blake Fisher and the like. I get it, ND isn't for everyone and Dabo (even though I don't like him personally) is inciting, but don't get up there and jerk off an entire fanbase, for a fucking month when you KNEW where you were going. Kids like this very rarely work out. Caleb Kelly, Ben Davis, Demetrius Robertson, Blake Barnett all come to mind. Clemson will just recruit another back next year just as good and the dudes in front of him are as good or better.
