As it stands now, the ACC gets two teams in the playoffs. One may get eliminated with an ACC Championship Game. The cynic in me thinks that there may be ACC officials who decide that, on second thought, maybe that game poses too much Covid risk.

It's clear the ACC wants Clemson in the playoff and is basically doing anything they can to accommodate them.

if they treated us unfairly, it would be a signal of what is to come (one of our worries about the B10 back in the day was that OSU and UM would actually be calling the shots (very true). It would have been a really bad look after the flag on the blatant PI was picked up after Dabo screamed from the sidelines - that would have cost 99% of teams the game right there.
BTW, the single biggest positive effect that cancelling the Dec 12 games has besides allowing for a better team bubble is that it limits the potential for a crucial injury. The outcomes of those games is 99% certain.
