Its not that our players aren't more than good enough to play against the likes of Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, etc. Its the fact that we have a head coach who has consistently proven he cannot prepare a team for a big-time game.
Proof: 2015 Great Season... lousy national championship game. 2018 Great Season... lousy national championship game. 2020 Great season... lousy ACC championship game.
So what is the common denominator? The players are excellent, the head coach sucks!!! How much more proof do you need?
We are going to play Alabama soon... let's see if Kelly can actually do anything correct? I have serious doubts!
And all you Kelly apologists need to face facts... our players can play, our head coach has his head up his ass!

have. Also critical is having talent at certain critical positions, like QB, RB and WR on offense and DE and CB on defense. If you noticed, both Alabama and Clemson have elite talent at all of those positions, and more. Great talent makes a coach's job much easier. We lack elite talent at any position except at Rover and safety. It's not that we're bad, we're just not as good.
Your credibility on this subject matter may be questionable.
teams based on recruiting rankings. So just stop. We can beat the other teams if we play our best and they have a bit of an underperforming day. Wake up.
it exists? Lea often modified and adjusted his game plan, which everyone appreciates. ND's offense rarely adjusts. I can guarantee you we'll see the same offense against Alabama we saw versus Clemson and Kelly will say it all comes back to execution.
So the players must be pretty darn good. We know it's not the coaching that gets credit.
Georgia - 1
LSU - 1
USC - 0
Florida State - 1
Miami - 0
I believe all of those teams have better recruiting rankings than we do.
Bama, Clemson, tOSU and Oklahoma are another story. Elite QB play seems to be the biggest difference. I don't know how we solve that.
