My pops smacked me down yesterday after continuing to pout. Pops grew up in a poor family in rough neighborhood, got drafted and went to Vietnam, lost his legs serving, and for the las two years has been on dialysis 3 days a week.
He’s lived a hard life and the pandemic has been tough on him since he’s so compromised. ND football and the success this year brought him joy in a much needed year. So hearing me whine about ND making the playoffs wasn’t something he wanted to hear. And he’s right.
As he said, enjoy it. They’ll probably lose and no one will care. If they win though, it will likely be the greatest moment in ND history and you’ll get to witness it.
He’s right.
Expect me to make some optimistic post for the next few weeks. Sorry.
Merry Christmas all!
Here’s hoping the Irish can bring home a win.

He couldn’t stand Weis, and he was still undecided on Kelly at the time of his passing. Hugh Devore was his pick for worst ND coach of his lifetime.
