1. If ND wins the toss I'm taking the ball. It's possible we could be down 14-0 when the offense gets it's second possession.
2. Anything inside the 30 should be four down territory and Rees should have his down and distance playsheet set up as such.
3. Williams, Lenzy, Tyree are the fastest players we have on offense and I sure hope they're on the field at the same time. It was damn near malpractice that Tyree didn't get the ball more in the ACCCG.
4. Wouldn't mind seeing those 4 TE sets.
Personally, I like the prospect of potentially getting 2 series in a row (end of first half; beginning of second half), so I would normally defer. But, I see your logic.
that ND won’t punt takes their special teams out of the game and puts 4 down pressure on the Bama defense. It can be tiring and discouraging for Bama if ND keeps converting 4th down.
If Kelly thinks they can win straight up prepare for another blow out.
Agreed.....make it 4 down territory everywhere so you can still include the running game even if you can just muster 2-3 yards/play.
However, Kelly will do what he does and blame execution and "missed opportunities" when he is humiliated again on the biggest stage. He will try those stupid bubble screens and slow developing running plays where the Bama speed will put us in 2nd and 3rd and long and then Book will do the chicken little, duck, dance, and get sacked routine.
It isn't the play calling when a play fails it is generally you are out executed, or a gamble pays off for the defense. You can beat a gamble though with a little luck.
