Putting the most important games of the year on a cable channel is stupid. It puts college football in a sports ghetto with declining subscribership rather than being a national event where even the casual observer will check it out.
It is a stark contrast between the NFL, with its parity and an exciting weekend with multiple games affecting the playoffs, and college football. College football is setting itself up for the decline baseball has seen: the rich get richer, the game gets increasingly regionalized, and interest declines. As they say, no one is in charge of college football and it shows.
