"You guys are killing me. Big games, big games. You mean when we play Alabama and Clemson, right? And those are the big games. Those are elite, talented teams that have elite players... I don't have a unique problem at Notre Dame. I think you need to look at the scores that everybody played against Alabama and Clemson. Everybody's got the same issue."
That's the head coach of Notre Dame, complacently accepting the fact that this program is just like everybody else. Yes, Big Game Brian, those are the big games, and you lose them consistently. Why should we accept a head coach that can't get this program to an elite level.
Kelly is done. He will hang around, but we're never going to win a title with him. This is as good as it gets. If you don't understand that yet, then let me tell you the definition of insanity.
don't have a consistent difference maker at QB at the is an even larger issue.
Are you telling me that in his 11 years, Kelly hasn't been able to bring in the right QB?
In college football, the head coach is always the one responsible - he's both GM and coach. If the team isn't meeting expectations then he is responsible.
The standard is the standard, and we haven't met the standard that ND should expect. If a talent disparity is to blame, then the coach is to blame for not bringing in OR coaching up quality talent. If Kelly can't do one or the other then he needs to go. That's the job.
To come to ND. Chummy how we wasted a scholarship getting Ron Paulus III
are becoming similar to the values of college basketball players in that they do not want to commit to going to class, and getting their degrees or even finishing the season with their so called "brothers". It is very difficult to find mature athletes these days who are mature/smart enough to value the degree that will most likely make their life easier in the long run, whether it it because there is a lot of life after a pro career or whether they lead a more satisfactory or safe life after pro football or without pro football.
