Watching these QBs clap to snap the ball just shows how college-gimmicky many of these supposedly “top” coaches are. Kelly prepares his players for the NFL by teaching them skills that are used at the next level. Championships are fads that change every year but great coaching for the next level lasts forever. Irish eyes are smiling on the COY, Kelly.

Because word is out: if I’m a nearly-NFL-ready QB (and I could name plenty here) they all know that much or any further growth and development ain’t happening with Kelly. Time will only tell what happens to Buchner.
year but he has produced NFL players from players who came to school without a lot of hype and a lot of them have lengthy NFL careers. This is particularly true of players on the line, not difference makers in college, but solid pro players that help their teams for years.
Kizer? Do any of his QBs still have jobs in the NFL?
You're a moron. Kelly wastes talent the way you waste words.
The QB isn’t the only player on the team. Kelly doesn’t use college-gimmicky tricks like clapping, pretending you’re about to snap then looking to the sideline, etc. He used the tried-and-true coaching that has led to ND players having an outsized impact in the NFL. Irish eyes will forever be smiling on COULY Kelly!
Who, precisely, has he prepared for the NFL?
Clearly he’s delusional. And full of shit
lost a year for grades or cheating. He then had Zaire who might have turned out to be a good college QB but the injury killed him. He then had Kizer who if he learned to control the turnovers, had the size and arm strength and accuracy and decent mobility to be a solid pro. Jury is still out. He had Wimbush who so many on here thought was going to be the answer early. The problem was he was a terrible passer, so he went with Book who was definitely more capable than anyone else on roster and who maybe can be a career backup but though he looked like an accurate passer early was not the same after the game two years ago against Clemson, and is 6' tall without a super strong arm but who is smart and can keep plays alive. He got us to the playoffs two out of three years. Only three teams have done better and maybe Oklahoma has done as well. Not bad, not satisfying but better than almost everyone else.
