least some quality game time with the backup QBs. This is going to kill us next year. He did this with Jurkovec as well, and I believe it was at least part of the reason he left.
The freshman coming in may be great, but he will need time - esp with Kelly’s penchant not to play younglings. And none of the back up QB’s that I have seen on our present roster are the answer.
Unless there is a real stud out there who exactly fits Kelly's offense, parachuting a(nother) qb in the fall isn't going to make a difference.
Besides, what high level difference making qb wants to play in this crap offense?
assessment. Even on the rare occasion when one played, it was simply to hand off. I just don't understand that mentality.

maybe a similar skill set to Book but better at everything, talent related. We will see. Also we have good lines year after year. rewatched the game and we just missed on a couple of plays that would have been big.

conditions? This borders on coaching malpractice.
We've been bitching about it for over a decade.
The way he handles QB's is malpractice.

I wonder who will be available?

OL talent is there, albeit untested.
Rees isn't going anywhere, unless he wants to be a head coach at a desolate program.
QB is the biggest need, by far. The depth chart is garbage.
