e battle to USC. He's 6'0" and 235 pounds and looks athletic and physical. A completely different type of back than we have on our roster right now.
Kyren Williams 5'9" 195
Chris Tyree 5'9" 179
C'Bo Flemister 5'11" 200
Those are the only three we currently have with true freshmen Diggs and Estime not arriving until August. Any chance we might be interested in having a big powerful back like that around next year?
That is the rumor anyway, in the regional hs football nerd community. That he wanted ND a lot, but felt jilted. Just offered for what it's worth, what I have heard, but have never talked with the guy so don't know.
he might respond to an ND offer. Tough as nails and someone for the young backs to learn from.

uses. Average size 5-11 220. Or how about Harris or Harris or Jacobs or Scarbrough or Henry from Alabama. Average size 6-1 230.
Average size of our running back group this year? 5-10 192
How come OSU and Alabama teams only use RB and we always go with the smaller APB types. Given the way we recruit OLine and TE groups, you'd think a big RB like that would make a lot of sense.
And we've had big backs since Bettis. Remember Robert Hughes running it right down USC's throat and into the end zone to win? I thought we'd figure it out after that. We didn't though. We never seem to figure it out.

There were several other big guys along the way, and I won't include the pure fullbacks (Zellars, Edwards, Spencer, Powers-Neal, etc:)
Just off the top of my head:
Tony Fisher - 220 lbs, horribly underused.
Robert Hughes - 230 lbs, again not used enough
Jonas Gray - 220 lbs
Cierre Wood - 215 lbs
Josh Adams - 230 lbs
Tony Jones Jr - 230+ lbs
But yeah, I do agree, that Brian Kelly seems to be shooting more for the smaller, shifty backs, instead of trying to go for the power runners.
I'm quite happy with the one-two running back tandem we have for next year (Kyren Williams + Chris Tyree), and feel excited to see what Estime and hopefully Diggs, can do. I think that with another year of S&C under Coach Balis, you'll see Williams and Tyree add about 10 quality pounds to their frames, which will make them even better in 2021.
I'll be realistic here though... Trying to say that C'bo Flemister is a power back is a bit of a reach. He's more of a small back who runs straight ahead with some good hard momentum, instead of a big guy who can bulldoze you.

I simply made the point that he did not have the academics to get into ND out of hs. That means he would need specific curriculum subjects to be able to transfer in. I don't know if his course load included those or not. That has nothing to do with whether he went to USC, MIT, Harvard, or some rinky dink state college.
Of course people can improve their standing by going to SC, but that has nothing to do with what I posted. Maybe he took the subjects necessary. If he did, then great. If not, then he's not transferring to ND.
We know from there he went to USC. That implies that if his academic standing improved enough to get into ND now, he would have had to have done so while at USC. If a FB player doesn't have the right academic profile before going to USC, he's probably not going to get it there.
Except, are you now stating that he can't improve his profile at USC, or are you implying that I stated that? That's not my contention at all, and nowhere did I write that.
My point was that he lacked something coming out of high school. I never saw anything come out explaining whether it was grades or a lack of required core courses. Regardless, he enrolled elsewhere. ND, in order for him to transfer in, is going to require certain courses to be taken that most schools do not require from first year students.
He's had two and a half years to get his transcripts in order, so maybe he has.
It all may be moot anyway, as it looks like he is going to Wisconsin. That offense is in line with the kind of power back that he is
