Mickens bounces to LSU with Freeman. Per Loy at 247.
This program has zero interest in winning a title again.

ND's number one choice for DC after Lea interviews with them first, then heads to LSU, accepts the job there AND swipes Mickens along with potentially Joseph. It's a very bad look imo and says a lot about anyone's willingness to work for Kelly.

For most coaches. Very few get to do it their way is how it seems. He’s not Saban or Meyer.

land DB recruits or keep DBs around to save our lives. The only positive the last 5 years is they actually can find the ball in the air now and sometimes get their arm between the WR's arms, but that only changed with Lyght. Bracey was a weak link and Lewis this year as well. We would have been in trouble without McCloud and he was just soso.
67th in Interceptions as a D
61st in Passing Yards allowed.
That's pretty bad for such a good D. Anything I missed?

Let see where do would I coach? LSU or ND. Pretty much a no brainer. It has nothing to do with money.
The coaching fraternity is a brotherhood of friends made along the way and who doesn't want to work with their friends. Mickens worked for Freeman at Cincinnati and Joseph is not only from New Orleans but has previously coached at LSU. People change jobs all the time and it is rarely caused by $$.
That’s simplistic.
Assistant coaches bounce for money. They are usually young. They usually have families. They aren’t making multi millions a year. Their careers aren’t solidified yet. You’re right, I guess when you add all those real life problems, it’s not that simple.
As always, I’m here to educate.

Grad Asst after my playing days at BSU. Then a few different stops in the early 00’s. Wasn’t good enough and couldn’t cut it.
I miss it but had to go make money. Thankfully I’ve been able to stay around the game at the high school level. Did some position coach roles and then work was too much but have some friends that ask me to scout some of there upcoming opponents which is fun.

"Boise" SU or "Ball" SU -- Just curious?
Ball State. I'm a Cardinal!
Cool...have lots of friends that were Cardinals, but would have been older.
