The Super Bowl stirred the pot again on what is pass interference.
Romo said that the Chiefs DBs like to grab and hold. Then, later the Chiefs were called for PI and there were complaints about it.
Guess what? When you grab and hold, it's PI.
There has been an evolving definition of what is PI. The muggings that DBs inflict on WRs now would never have been allowed years ago. The slippery slope of allowing hands on WRs has gotten out of hand.
But it goes both ways. We hear of " hand fighting " going on between WRs and DBs, and WRs push off DBs to get separation all the time.
DBs are allowed to " chuck " the WRs for the the first five yards, but the chucking goes beyond that.
The interplay of hands between the two groups has gotten way out of hand. You could call PI on practically every play. Unless the NFL tightens up the rules, it will only get worse.
interception was not the right call. Both were fighting and the interception occurred away from the play which should be another consideration. So many of the interference calls should not be made when made and should be made when not made. It has almost become like offensive holding which you can call on almost every play.
