In the end, it's a business. But they do love their Rudolph in Minnesota, dontcha know. And he loves them right back.

even after not being passed to the entire game. Such a class act. He made highlight films often and did it humbly. They will love the guy forever. For us I will never forget how he caught a bomb from Dayne Crist who threw it from the two or so and he caught it at the 50 and outran the defensive back into the end zone. I had always wondered if that was the longest TD catch by a tight end either college or pro. He was fast early and that play actually might have started his hamstring issues but man was it awesome.

Kyle Rudolph's sizable contract (4 years, 36 million dollars) that he signed last year simply counts too much against the salary cap. That, plus Irv Smith looks to be ready to be the unquestioned TE1 on that team.
Kyle Rudolph will have absolutely no problems finding a starting TE job elsewhere, although I doubt he'll command that high of a salary (and I hope I'm proven dead wrong). The NE Patriots would seem like a logical destination, seeing how they haven't found an adequate replacement for Rob Gronkowski (neither Izzo nor LaCosse were particularly effective).
