Glad he wanted to be a Domer but once again Kelly doesn't seem to get the picture of needing a DIFFERENCE/PLAYMAKER at QB for some reason he was the 3rd choice which was too high in my opinion but now you almost have to land Wimsatt/Allar who were the first two options!
After all, he did have some big time schools recruiting him.
Just look at his offer list. The kid can play.

Class of 2017 Pro-Style QBs
5 Stars:
Davis Mills (Stanford)
Hunter Johnson (Clemson)
Jake Fromm (Georgia)
4 Star - 162nd ranked prospect:
Mac Jones (Alabama)
2015:
Joe Burrow - 3 Star - Unranked (Ohio State)
Also, Mac Jones was a composite 3* per 247. #399 player. Was the only QB Bama took in 2017 — in a #1 class.
Let alone a Natty.

And only one 5* recruit in the class. So do you still stand by your statement? Even though it is objectively wrong?

One better/one backup is how it has been in consecutive years. And sometimes the backup is better than the one who was supposed to be better. Buchner/Angeli is an improvement in what we've seen thus far in consecutive years.

It's a good situation to have for 2022. Hopefully, Buchner is ready to start at that time (preferably earlier), and Angeli can take his time getting ready.
It's also good to see that we're finally getting taller, stronger armed quarterbacks who can see more clearly over those giant earth movers on the offensive line.
He's already just a few points away from being a 4 star player, and with a solid senior season, you're going to see him rise up the rankings.
The NJ pipeline continues.....very nice get.
