Can we snatch up that 6 tonight? I do not know the needs of the Jags
I'll be shocked if the rest of their picks this draft are not defenders.
I didn’t watch the draft last night, but was surprised to see he wasn’t drafted when I looked at the picks this morning.
early in the draft they look at blockbuster difference makers. Don't worry he will be a good one.

He's kind of small for a traditional LB, so he is a 'niche" fit player. I think "fit" is the only reason he didn't go in Rd 1.

I never paid any attention to the play of the top 3 LB picks but the highlight snippets they showed made them look pretty good.
That 3 LBs were picked ahead of him indicates he fell for some reason.
I may be going out on a limb here, but I'll say JOK is better than who the Washington Football Team drafted at LB (the 3rd LB off the board). Sometimes bad organizations make bad decisions. This will cost JOK some $$, but might be better for him since he won't play for Washington/Snyder.
That draft is based on need, and his skill-set only fits certain defenses.
He'll be a great get for whoever drafts him today.
This year's 1st round was definitely weighted more towards offensive players. Many teams needed QB's and WR's, and this draft was an excellent one to
While today's game in the NFL puts a heavier emphasis on speed and quickness, a linebacker is going to need some bulk as well. Those running backs that he's going to be tackling aren't going to be the 190 lb guys that were aplenty in the college game, but rather, those guys are going to be 210+ lbs, and just as fast. Most teams would rather put in a larger sized safety instead of using a smaller sized linebacker, even though there's a significant amount of overlap when it comes to those two types of player.
The fact that no safeties were taken in the 1st round either, confirms my belief that teams weren't looking for safeties / smaller linebackers this early, since a lot of quality players can be found starting today (round 2) at a cheaper price.
I have no doubts that JOK can handle things, as evidenced by his inhuman-level game that he had against Clemson (the first time), but can he hold up to a 16 game schedule? He's going to have to put on some more muscle to be an every down player, and typically, in the 1st round, teams drafting defensive players are looking for ones who can play right away. To put it this way, he was playing at 215 lbs in 2020, and those other three LB's who were drafted in the 1st round last night were 240, 260, and 260 lbs.

......was that both Clemson and Alabama intentionally ran the pertinent plays to him on the other side thereafter.
