Will our NFL training teams in the SEC be the equivalent of AAA leagues and all the rest just lower level minor leagues?
And will players who perform well in AA ball be able to move up to AAA?
The others who don't make it will look more like the traditional college model.
As currently configured. Most PAC12 unis are in serious financial trouble, ad are Oklahoma and LSU. If athletics is all that matters, then allow their academic sides go bankrupt. They're headed that way anyway...

College football is on the verge of becoming a minor league. I don’t recall that being a profitable venture.

But it could certainly backfire to the point that people don't care, like the NBA.
Football is the engine pulling the train.
Just because somebody can throw a water polo ball across the pool doesn’t mean that they should be taking the spot of an hard working and better student.
If the sport doesn’t generate financial benefit, there is no reason for spots to be taken from the most academically worthy just because Title IX says so. Eliminate water polo - make it a club sport and go back to being an academic institution more fully.
Or at least exclusively offer full rides. FBS football, men’s and women’s Basketball, tennis, women’s gymnastics, and women’s volleyball. Those are the only ones. So it's unlikely that the Water Polo guy is on a full athletic scholarship. I would guess the exception is kids who are sure-fire Olympians (like lady fencers at ND).
a portion of it or not.
Why should some kid who worked their tail off to get into a great academic instituion be rejected while another kid who didn't do as well gets the spot because they can hit a tennis ball?
If the kid brings value to the school....let's say a gold medal, then sure. But 99% don't do that in these lesser sports. The present systemis just a way to extend the benefit of being a jock beyond high school into the rest of life.
These people are undeserving of taking a classroom desk away from a more qualified person just as those more talented students should not take the spot of the better player on a rec league field hockey roster.....again, unless they bring some real value to the school.
