Simple solution: have Carr reclassify for 2023.

Good luck to Dante in Oregon.

Kind of reminds me of when Rocket Ismail played for Notre Dame

1)Admissions would not ever allow this 2)His parents would not allow it either.

I don't think you're right about this. Either he will have the credits or not.

That will be the only criteria from admissions. Carr's parents "held him back" so he could take a mission trip or something (I don't remember the whole story) and he took classes during that time. He's the same age as the '23 kids and he's taken extra course work. Go look at the admission criteria. There isn't anything that should be a deal breaker.

And why do you think his parents wouldn't "let him"? That doesn't make sense to me.

I am pretty familiar with admission criteria and ND system. I’d be very surprised if it were allowed

And I doubt very much Carr would be currently taking classes to at least give him that option if there hadn't already been substantive talks with admissions.

I doubt he will be lacking a single course or credit.

Because they want the athletes to succeed when they get to ND.They are in classes with “5*”students-

Rushing credits atypically for playing purposes does not enhance those chances.

It may well be acceptable at most other schools where the academics for athletes have merely been a front, but not Notre Dame. They want to minimize the necessary admission differences while maximize the chances that the athletes have had the best preparation possible to succeed in the classroom against other students with high quality prep. Prep classes from other locations or off sequence are clear on an admissions application. It is not adequate to merely “check the box” with regard to necessary credits.

I want to be clear that I do not have special info here other than having recently gone through the admissions process at ND with two different children and having heard them talk about their philosophy several times in person.
But As I said previously, I’d be truly shocked if they allowed it since rushed credits would not be considered the quality they feel best for the student.

If that student has pursued an accelerated program for multiple years, this might be accepted I suppose.

Also, I don’t think his personality is a good match at ND. It’s all about, what will everyone do for me.

It’s possible Freeman noticed this during his last visit and cooled on him and his father. Not a good match.

Malik Zaire talked a little bit about it on the Lucky Lefty podcast, but to be honest it was all so cryptic I couldn’t make heads or tales of what they were saying. I don’t follow recruiting to know what past events they were alluding too.

Sounds fishy to me. I can’t see Malik telling a QB not to go to ND.

Dante Moore seems to be a pretty smart kid.

I understand that Zaire felt like he got screwed at ND, since he went from the super hot starting QB (after one game in 2015) to a bench warmer in 2016, but the fact still remains that he was far inferior of a QB compared to Kizer, and he was still given ample opportunities in 2016, despite Kizer being very productive.

Also, he had a chance for a fresh start at Florida, where the QB competition was pretty weak. It's no secret that Zaire bombed out at Florida, losing out on the QB competition to a freshman at the time (Franks). If his alleged negativity had anything to do with ND "keeping the real man down," I doubt he would have been able to sell that line to Moore. He had opportunities to prove himself and simply didn't come through.

Basically, Dante Moore wants early playing time, and Oregon gives him a perfect opportunity to do so. If he's as good as advertised, then he'll definitely have a chance to be a starter from day one, assuming Bo Nix doesn't take a 5th year.

Even if Nix does take a 5th year, waiting one year for an all but guaranteed starting position is better than what he might have faced at Michigan, where the potential superstar, JJ McCarthy, would have at least two years left.

And I believe Zaire loves ND. He seems like the kind of guy to push ND not the other way around
