Interesting that this former Top 20 5* has continued to plummet WITHOUT playing. He entered his JR season as #21 and ended it at #35 and somehow has dipped down to the 80-90s range since the season ended??

Probably right but I was certain he did one and was a Top 5 player at the camp...very odd

For the sake of rankings...it matters. If you win the recruiting battle, it gives your team a look...the same recruiting pundits arent much different than the voters. So you get a good class...means your team is pretty good, you got talent... we'll rank you accordingly. You have a great recruiting class...you get a little extra shine on that ranking...not you're seen as a little bit better than some other schools...then ranked a little higher...means you have less spots to jump to get into the playoff. Now you still have to win but starting higher in the rankings..helps. Winning the recruiting battle is the first phase to winning...because style points matter.
That's pretty much my point he was a 5* Top 20 recruit DURING the season and AFTER the Spring he dropped 60-70 spots!
I never saw any player at any level take over a game like Drayk did, on offense and defense, in his high school's state title game last November. They won because of Drayk.
