ND needs an experienced OC.
…of season. Don’t see that happening.

Now, take the USC OC, put him in Tommy's position, and let's sit back and enjoy what he can do with no QB, no OL, and no RBs/WRs. I believe Rees came with the Head Coaching job. Marcus had no choice. Marcus does not have the cache to rid Rees next year either if Jack over rides the decision to fire Tommy.
He has the qb's he wanted, he got the line coach he wanted, and he's running the offense the way he wants to. This has lead to a shit show so far this season. He has talent in place. There is no excuse for him for the line to look like crap. If he's a good coach his qb should be finding open receivers when they are open and not forcing passes. He's the OC, this is on him and Freeman for retaining him.
And Swarbrick won’t interfere.
This was to be an 8-4/9-3 season not a 4-8 season.
There are talent problems but those were known at the bowl game … and apparently not addressed.
play for him. Other OC's can recruit good QB's.
Freeman had to keep him this year, yes. But I'm not sure keeping Rees forever was a part of the deal. MF is the head coach. He is not the DC. If he has no authority to fill out his staff with who he wants as his assistants then that is wrong. He has to be allowed to be an executive and run this program or else he should seek out greener pastures.
We are not going to get world class WRs until we get a world class QB. RBs will come if the WRs come. Will Carr be an EE? It's going to take everything we got just to hold onto the recruits we have, let alone land top skill guys and another instant star QB.
Not sure Rees is much different.
