Weis, entire 2007 season, what a jagoff!
Jon Tenuta calling double or triple blitzes on almost every down. We didn't have the personnel who could make it happen, and a defensive backfield can't cover all of the receivers with single coverage all of the time.
Frankly, the defense actually performed decently when we didn't blitz the linebackers and / or safeties.
Had he simply played a more conservative defense, 4 of those losses would easily have been wins, and 2 more were winnable. At the very least, that should have been a 10+ win season.
In the end, that was Charlie Weis' worst hire, and the one that basically doomed him in 2009.

Rees certainly didn't execute the pass the way it should have been. He made it a 50/50 ball. Compare that throw to the one to Miles Boykin against LSU in Citrus Bowl, executed by Book much better.
I think he missed an extra point that day, but it was still the higher percentage play.
quite remember.
We were at the 19 yd line and it was 2nd and 8. We had two downs left to move the ball closer and make it an easy kick... terrible call to throw a 50/50 ball with a low talent freshman QB who was thrown into action from starter betting knocked out of the game. A 50/50 ball by definition even with a good QB, is a 50% proposition, but with the QB we had then it's probably like 30%.
Pretty sure the odds of making a chip shot FG from inside the 19, even with the kicker we had then is higher than 30%.
could get it. Whatever, very poorly execution and decision to use that play.
