recruits from the highly ranked 2023 class? That recruits would start jumping ship w/ the uncertainty of who'd be head coach. That ND couldn't wait for the CFB playoff to be over to have serious talks w/ Luke Fickell.
So far Keely & Paige have decommitted & Peyton Bowen is almost surely to join them.
Good call Swarbrick, Jenkins, BOT, etc. Bang up job you guys are doing.
I will admit that I don't, although I am pretty effective in evaluating in a couple of other sports. But given the ratings of recent ND lineman and then seeing them try to perform at the level of other schools with much lower ratings, especially against Marshall this year, it seems like a crap shoot. Sure, size and strength are big factors and should be, but how can you rate desire, motor, ability to see the big picture, special understanding of spacial relationships, knowing opponents tendencies on down and distance, and knowing with eye contact what your teammates will do? The line coach and his ability to communicate, motivate, and instigate is huge. Hiestand seems to have had units at both ends of the spectrum of success, and yet given time to teach has elevated his players in most seasons at ND. But I offer no criticism of HH, just looking for some definition of how to rate offensive linemen...or is it truly the crap shoot it appears?

Not a bad loss. Better now than later. Atleast it gives us time to recruit his replacement.
He was going to USC all along
Where I want to be!” If that makes you happy believe it….
