Imagine having to fly across the country for most of your away contests. I"m guessing the football and basketball teams would travel via charter, but the vast majority of the other sports teams' travel will be via commercial air. What is the door-door travel time from LA to State College PA / College Park MD / Champaign IL / Bloomington IN? 10 hours? 12 hours?
This amounts to abuse of the student-athletes, and UCLA / USC obviously don't care.
They are in the heart of the most lucrative sports media market in America. They should be a money-making machine. Glad I am not a Cali taxpayer. Geez.
