IF the offense is substandard again, given the bye week, I believe Freeman would pull the trigger and elevate Gerad Parker to OC and Rees would be strictly the QB coach. Anyone else think this is a possibility if the offense can't get going, especially if ND loses?

Nobody is getting fired or demoted mid-season. And after the season there would only be terminations, not demotion.

His game plans, play calling, and in game adjustments have all been good. The Xs and Os are not the issue.
If you want to find fault, it seems to be roster management and player development.
For example, the QB room seems very weak overall. Misevaluating Buchner, not securing a portal QB or having Angeli ready to play demonstrates management ineffectiveness. This is not going to be fixed with a midsession change.
Likewise, the WR room is a bit of a mess. That is not going to be fixed by firing/demoting Rees.

Doesn't Swarbrick need to approve such moves? He's the one who retained Tommy, not Freeman.
If he's getting paid that much it's inexcusable to have an offense outside the top 25. This offense is well outside the top 100.
He should admit he's in over his head. From what I read he turned down mentorship and Freeman had to go after a WR coach who also lacks proper experience to be in this role at ND. Rees refused the hiring of a much more experienced WR coach because he wanted more say in the offensive strategy.
Rees 100% owns this. From recruiting to offensive hiring. All the mistakes he has made in the last 3 seasons are forefront now. Kelly had a way of hiding the issues instead of working hard to improve them. Rees doesn't have the experience to hide the deficiencies inherit in this offense and he certainly doesn't have the experience to fix any of it.
