Which places him 23rd in the nation and would have placed him 10th over a whole season last year.
True, UNC's defense sucked, but Pyne is coming along nicely.

only 17/32 for 12 more yds than Pyne who was 24/34. But Maye threw for 5 TDs while Pyne only had 3. One thing of which I am fairly certain is that Pyne, in spite of size, arm strength, and speed deficiencies compared to some elite QBs, is a winner. Watching him reach maybe the lowest point of his career against Cal, he has been nothing but an indisputable positive since. He will never be 6" taller, but he will QB many more ND wins. He is the best ND has at the position now, and the Irish are fortunate to have him.

He played a solid game and made great decisions and reese play calling worked to our strengths

to have seen Rees call games like this for the first two games.
And automatically knew better...as if coaches have NEVER picked the wrong guy to start, ever.
played pretty darn well against Ohio State in the first half. None of the receivers have done him favors either. I was watching a game today and the commentator mentioned that a receiver made a good tough catch on a 50/50 ball and I think our receivers failed Buchner on those type passes. Pyne is definitely a gamer and his scramble on which he was surrounded really turned the game around. Mayer caught some tough high passes today and the other receivers showed up too. It is funny what a running game will do for a quarterback.
Can’t remember his name. CA recruit. Good athlete, but never quite panned out.
He just has "it." But you're right about Buchner. He didn't get much help.

I hope Reese has sense enough to stick with Pyne even when Buchner returns.
