became, so somebody has to be given credit for the development of Book. That being said, Pyne is a gamer and he took three bad late hits, one being on the long TD pass and those refs didn't even come close to throwing a flag on two of them. They did on one of his passes if I remember correctly but he was taking cheap shots the whole game. I feared he would throw an interception at a critical time today but I will be damned if we didn't have a critical time today and his scramble was an incredibly big play today that we really needed at the time. After that play we got all our momentum. I thought Tyree was great today to as he exhibits great shake and bake on his runs yet with the ability to finish his runs tough. If Estime gets a hole no one wants to tackle him after he breaks the line of scrimmage. He hurts people.

are asking him to do.
Two batted down passes in the same series wasn’t too impressive …but he turned it around and was impressive and clearly is a better choice over Buchner
catches on high balls but it was refreshing to see us use our whole playbook and open things up a bit.
They weren't babying him today, he was making all the throws. I'm tempering my expectations because of the defense we played against, but if he can play at this level vs the better teams down the road there might just be something left of this season. USC is gonna be rough, outside of some keys injuries occurring before then, they are gonna put up some serious pts on this defense.
I know we aren't used to this, but this is what football player growth looks like.
were glorified handoffs.
You wanna praise him for his play today and I'll be right beside you, but his play vs Cal (aside from 2 or 3 nice throws) was pretty low level stuff.
