I'm bummed with this kid. He was a big-time recruit, seems like a good guy but ultimately decided it was better for his career to play elsewhere. I know this is the way things are (I remember when Dorsey Levens left and then spent 5+ years in the NFL), but the reality is we just don't have as much depth as we did in 1993. So, losing tier one recruits like Lacey hurts.

I'm fine with him using his last 2 years of eligibility however he sees fit. I assume he wants a better guarantee of more playing time to improve his chances with the NFL.
I'm saying we need to watch out whether we're creating an environment in which people like Lacey see it as a place for success/setting them up best. I know we do that on the OL; how do we expand that to other positions?
Seemed to be effective when he played and had a very good game against Cal.
when he arrived. It took him awhile but I thought he played very well.
........and saw that his playing time was very questionable with what is coming behind him. He has his degree coming so we all should wish him well. We are undersized at Nose Guard and Defensive Tackle albeit very athletic. This will give us an opportunity to recruit some better size in the middle which we badly need.
