He's the best LB on the team right now.
Also, stop trying safety blitzes, someone needs to remind Golden he's not in the NFL this year.
Bertrand especially. Kiser has been ok and Liafau has been a disappointment. I think the two I mentioned are physically ready to elevate our play at that position.
Kollie, Tuihalamaka, Burnham, Sneed, Ziegler, Bowen, Ausberry, Zinter. These guys are way more athletic than a Bertrand or even a Kiser. Kollie looks ready and Bertrand is playing like shit. So let's move on because if we don't start playing any of these guys, some of them may go the way of Jacob Lacey. They don't need to stick around until they are juniors and seniors to play and we keep stockpiling them.
When we all see playing shortcomings for upperclassman? Play the talent and it will develop. Play the less talent and the better talent sours. Don’t most teams play the talent that is superior. At ND we seem to have this enigma that we play the guys that ‘know’ the System but can’t get it done on the field. Sorry to point one out, but see joe Schmidt

tion and has terrible run fits.

Only time will tell if Kollie ought to play more. For me, given all the hype, Liufau may be the most overhyped player on the team. He seems like a small but faster Bauer which means we have two guys running around like chickens with the heads cut off rather than making plays.
You're a bit off when it comes to safety blitzs. College teams run them all the time. The problem this defense has is they are telegraphed way too often.

We've barely seen him play. But I'm all for trying him and Sneed and anyone other than Bertrand, Kizer and Bauer. Marist a big disappointment this year too.
I think we need more blitzes (expected more from Foskey and the A twins)....we just need the right people doing it. Our LBs just run right up our own guy's asses...it's like they're recreating the butt fumble without the ball.
I do think we need to see a lot more of Kolie and Tuihalamaka though. Sneed....maybe.
average at everything except coverage where he's borderline poor

freely (them getting through untouched).
I hear so much hype about how recruiting has improved since Marcus Freeman arrived. Especially on defense. What is the point of recruiting good players if you don't make the same effort to get them on the field that you did to recruit them? Tyson Ford, Josh Burnham, Jalen Sneed, Junior T were all advertised as guys who were ready to come in and play right away. The same is true with Kollie. The linebackers who are presently on the field have not played well at all and the defense overall has underachieved. And don't give me all these rationalizations about how many points a game they are allowing. With all the experience that is starting on this defense, the breakdowns and mental lapses that consistently occur week after week are inexcusable.
Completely agree Kollie should start over Bertrand.
WR's were owning the field, that is one thing. As it is, there is no reason Tobias and Kollie shouldn't be seeing more time. It's concerning to me that O or D playbooks can be so dense it takes 2 or more years to be comfortable. That's got to change.
“Smart” to be allowed into Notre Dame. There are freshman starting for Top Ten teams all over the country. It is routine. Somehow I doubt Tommy Rees is more sophisticated that most of not all of the top college OCs. He was an average at best college QB and his coaching career appears similar.

Is that even a penalty? IDK, but it looks ridiculous.
pump faking 10 yards past the LOS.
He should have his football player card indefinitely revoked for that one...I honestly can't think of a time I've seen any FBS defender look that utterly clueless.
