In any case, maybe our coach has to get past identifying with the players. Neither Ara nor Lou ever did so.
Self-help book mentality will be good for offseason building, but when you get anywhere near the field you gotta let that crap go. It's put up because I said that's what I expect and if you can't handle it there's the door.
We have a mission to complete. Execute it or else.
They can be nice guys and deal directly with players. Or, they can be aloof, and tell the players their doors are closed, the players must talk with position coaches, GAs, or counselors.
In either case, all that matters is ROi. Nothing else. How efficiently do they use the resources they're given. P5s have different expectations than lower level programs. You can't say what kind of coach is better, or worse...

I know times have changed but he needs to take control of this team. He can’t be friends with everyone. I have a friend that played for Lou Holtz when Holtz was in Arkansas. He told me that a lot of players there would be in tears in practice. Maybe that’s a bit much but these players need to know who the boss is.

Collision course in the playoffs
I live in Rochester and love Josh Allen. The hurdle was awesome!
I hope Da' Raida's knock out KC the last game of their season.
White back after the bye
His reception was surgical!
Game winning score.
I was worried prior to that drive.
AWESOME!
Maybe just maybe this is our year
